We forced John into a chair sat down with John, recently, to pick his brain about what got him started in the crazy world of podcasting. Here's what he had to say...
What made you decide to start a podcast?
I was always into radio and wanted to do my own show. When I realized that wasn’t a possibility at that point in my life, I decided to start a podcast of my own. Me and Gregg Gregory spoke for months about 90’s stuff and the subject was easy.
How did the “Gamer” come about?
The Gamer came about due to my love of the games I grew up with. I love the old Mario, Sonic, Donkey Kong and Amiga games that kept me occupied growing up. I decided to do a series on them starting with (ironically) a remake of Monkey Island.
What’s your favorite episode, so far?
For the podcast, it'd be The Lion King. The most fun o have had recording. Kudos to the boys from “Super Weird” for being there with me. With the Gamer, the whole Oddworld series. Love those games and each episode was a fun, if challenging experience.
What’s coming up in 2022?
We have the ability to be more than a review show. I see us branching out into more pop culture and societal episodes in the latter half of the year. As for gaming, any game that interests us will be played. I’m hoping to do more play-throughs of complex games like Pokemon: Blue has been.
